Many years ago, when I was a student at the Polytechnic, a colleague gave me a book with a bizarre name, Death and the Compass by Jorge Luis Borges. In your twenties you don't want to read things about death, but knowing the man who gave it to me well, I knew there was a chichirez there for me to discover. For a few days I didn't even open it, clearly feeling resistance, but then when I started to read it I couldn't put it down and at the end I didn't want it to end. At the time it was the only book in Romanian by this writer.

Jorge Luis Borges is an Argentinean writer who has influenced all lovers of literature in the last century with his work and a lot of writers have paid homage to him through their books, the most famous and famous being Umberto Eco with his book The Name of the Rose.

About J.L. Borges one can find information today, in the age of the internet, so I will not write about this aspect, and also several books have been printed in Romanian that can be read by those who wish, but for me it was a miraculous encounter at that time that I still carry in my soul today. For me; that moment; of reading that book; was an amazing discovery; in which I understood so much of those seemingly simple stories, that my inner universe has never been the same. It's that book that changes you so deeply and irrevocably that you feel like it has even changed your DNA. There have been other books along the way that have opened doors to magical worlds in my mind and soul that have contributed to who I have become in my lifetime and to whom I am deeply grateful, but that was the moment I think I took the first important step on the road to becoming me.

Wanting to launch my own book, I kept trying in different places to find a space and I got more or less polite rejections, but then no matter how polite a rejection was, it never feels good. I didn't understand what was going on, until now everything connected with this book seemed to be touched by a magic wand and now everything was stuck. I didn't understand what was going on, until last night I realized that God was giving me another wonderful gift; to launch my novel at the Sand Bookshop, which is actually the name of a book of short stories by J. L. Borges, who inspired the bookshop and gave it its name when he founded it. There, at that bookshop, from the first moment I walked in and asked if I could organize the launch I was told YES, but I still didn't understand the real message, because I had forgotten the old librarian Borges. Attending a book launch there last night, as a sort of preview to my own event, I looked up and saw a quote from Borges (which I've posted below) and that's when I realized why I was there and why my book launch is taking place in that bookstore. Borges makes you feel that when you open a book or enter a bookstore or library it is like entering a temple where all the knowledge of the World is stored and where he is the one who reigns unquestionably by his moral authority and the beauty of the books he has written.

I feel honored by these synchronicities that from near to near have helped me to fulfill a dream of sharing my knowledge and life experience through the book I wrote. I am grateful to Jean, my college classmate who has been living on the other side of the world in Australia for many years, for the moment he gave me that magical book, and then to all my teachers, shamans, clients and all the people I have interacted with throughout my life, from whom I have learned wonderful things and with whom I have also walked with on my journey of transformation.
